A: First secure access via SSL needs to be setup by netMaestro Support, this can be either by you own domain name (requires your own SSL certificate) or via the netmaestro shared SSL certificate. Using the shared SSL certificate you need to log into the secure section of you site as well as the non-secure section as the browser treats them as separate sites. The shared SSL login URL would be https://yoursite.netmaestrocms.com/admin.aspx. You use the same username and password as the non-secure login

A: The netMaestro spam filter uses a number of tests to determine if a message to thought to be spam. A weighted score is give for each failed test. The total of these scores determine what action is taken.

Messages that score over 25 points are moved to a folder to be deleted this is purged 1 day later. Messages that score between 15 and 25 points have the subject line marked Probable Spam: and are put into the Junk Mail folder in the web mail they are purged after 3 days. Messages scoring between 10 and 15 points have the subject line marked Possible Spam: you have probably seen some of these come through.

If necessary the tests scores and actions can be customised for a domain. NOTE: This may incur a charge

1. Avoid using a catch-all email address. If you have a catch-all email address the spammer can send you email without knowing your actual address.
2. Do not reply to spam or suspicious emails, this includes read receipts. If you do the spammer will know they have a live address and send more spam to you.
3. Be careful about which sites you sign up to, they may give or sell your address to a spammer.
4. Setup a Junk mail folder in your email client and create some rules to direct incoming email. Our email server will insert POSSIBLE SPAM, PROBABLE SPAM to an email's subject line it I believes the email may be spam. You can use this flag in your filter to  direct the mail to a specific folder.
